Toy Sling

My Husband and I decided to not use bumpers, as recommended by the SIDS foundation. We also did not want to keep any stuffed animals in the crib either. But he had been given so many, we didn't know what to do with them all. I saw a toy sling on the Sears website for $60 and thought, this his something I could easily make! So I did, using leftover material. Therefore this project was $0! :) 

Personalized Laundry Bag

For the first few weeks Isaiah's clothes were all over the floor so I finally had enough! So using scrap material I sewed him a personalized Laundry bag to match his bedding! I hang it off the side of his crib so it is very easy access. 

Baby Quilt

When I was a little girl and learning to sew I always told myself that for each of my babies in the future I would sew them each a quilt. So when I found out I was pregnant with a baby boy, my Husband and I went to Fabricland and chose material to make a quilt. After about 3 trips to the fabric stores we finally chose these patterns. As you can see I really love earth tones. The colours of the nursery are avocado green and Noah's Ark Brown.

Sewing Background

I have always loved all types of crafts, but sewing has always been my favourite hobby. When I was 8 years old my mom enrolled me in "Kids Can Sew", I took lessons until I was 12. Honestly, I think it was  the most useful skill I could have learned. Since finding out I was pregnant the skill has become much more valuable to me and I have enjoyed working on many projects for my little baby! Hope you enjoy them!
